Our preschoolers loved getting to observe the wiggly world of worms today! They observed from close and far! Some children were a bit fearful so they decided to look through magnifying glasses while others overcame their fears by touching and even holding the worms. After careful observations they helped their teachers make a “Worm Museum” and are looking forward to the weeks ahead when they get to observe the worms burrowing and digging in their man-made environment! Learning about Wiggly Worms is SO MUCH FUN!
Our Pre-K students have been learning about turtles and today they made their own turtles and habitats to go with them!
Ms. Destanie and Ms. Monica have been working very hard with our afterschool kids to teach them the value of teamwork. Each day they focus on how they can help each other and reach their goals. When the class met their goal they were rewarded with a pizza party celebration! The kids loved all the decorations, goodies, and of course the cake! Way to go afterschool….keep up the teamwork!
This week was filled with fun experiments in many of our classrooms. Ms. Kaley (Kent State student teacher) loved showing them how to create their own rainbow! She used milk, soap, and food coloring to make a rainbow perfect for any Leprechauns who might want to make an appearance on Monday!
There were many little paleontologists in our Pre-K class this week. The children had fun learning all about dinosaur facts and how scientists explore history through finding fossils!
FINALLY the TLC kids were able to catch a few rays of sunshine today! What a great day to climb the hills of snow still lingering around. You would have thought it was the first time they had seen the playground. It was like a brand new toy today! It gave us all a sense of spring being able to watch the kids laugh, run, and enjoy the fresh air! We are all hoping that Mr. Winter stays away!
What could be more fun than watching our toddlers "bake" Dr. Seuss cupcakes! They had fun measuring, mixing, and sneaking bites of the "pretend" batter. They even tried to fill the cupcake tins themselves.
Sometimes I can't believe I get paid to do this job! Last week we were blessed with a warm winter day and Mr. Pfeister was ready to take all the kids outside to enjoy the sunshine, warm weather wind, and the hills of Barlow Lake! The kids squealed, giggled, and even tackled building a HUGE snowman! Thank you Mr. Pfeister for bringing out the kid in all of us!
