It’s been an exciting and emotional week at TLC as we watch our children grow, transition into a new room with a new teacher or get on that big yellow school bus for the first time. This is just one of many milestones in their journey called life as well as your journey as a parent. As I put my “mommy hat” on (borrowed from a friendJ) I’d like to just remind you whether you are (or will be) sending your child off to Kindergarten, Middle School, High School or College the moments are truly fleeting. They come into our lives and we instantly become a parent, teacher, nurse, counselor, and chauffeur. This job comes with many challenges but also many rewards. It’s the little moments our children remember, not that the laundry was folded, the lawn was beautifully manicured or the bills were paid. What they do remember is that you took the time to just be with them; treasure this. Guide them with firm resolve and a gentle heart as you navigate the road ahead. Take small steps along the way; remember life is a marathon, not a sprint. And a word of advice from me as a seasoned parent who has been through this; do not compare yourself to other parents or your child to others. We are all unique and different and believe it or not, you will do just fine – trust your instincts. Love them, guide them and most importantly, enjoy the journey!!!!! "Miss Rosanne"
