How is TLC different from other centers in the area? TLC Child Development Center offers a unique blend of high-quality care, unmatched ratios and group sizes, and a natural, residential setting adjacent to the trails and ponds behind Barlow Community Center in Hudson. Our outdoor play area has been recently upgraded and features natural shade from our large trees.

What is your overall philosophy? TLC incorporates the results and findings of the latest research as the foundation for its childcare and educational programs. To ensure optimal brain/cognitive, social and emotional development, and happy, secure children, TLC offers low child to teacher ratios; small groups of children; highly trained, professional, loving teachers; and appropriate stimulating experiences and opportunities.

Why are low teacher/child ratios important? Low ratios of children to teachers are associated with more extensive teacher and child interactions; more individual attention; more extensive and complex language; and more complex play. We’re not aware of any large center in Northeast Ohio with lower ratios than TLC.

Why are small group sizes important? Small group sizes are correlated with children being more active in their learning; more opportunity for teachers to help children develop language proficiency; children engaged in more social interaction; and more development of children’s exploration and problem-solving. We’re not aware of any large center in Northeast Ohio with smaller group sizes than TLC.

What holidays are you closed for? TLC is closed on the following holidays or on the day designated for the holiday: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, Christmas Day. TLC will close on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve at 4 P.M. Holidays do not decrease the Tuition amount.

What are your hours of operation? TLC is open year round, 7 A.M. TO 6 P.M., Monday through Friday.

What are your rates? Our rates vary by age, number of children in the family, and full-time versus part-time. Please stop by for a tour, and we’ll be happy to provide you with a customized rate schedule that fits your needs.

Do you offer part-time care? Yes. Our schedules are flexible to meet the needs of today’s busy parents.

What is Step Up to Quality? Step Up to Quality is Ohio's quality rating system. This accreditation recognizes early care and education programs that meet quality benchmarks over and above minimum licensing standards. TLC is proud to be a star-rated center in this program.
