PROGRAMS
Infants
TLC’s Infant program is for children aged 6 weeks to 10 months. This program offers:
- 3 to 1 child to teacher ratio.
- Baby sign language, to increase communication skills.
- Developmentally appropriate lesson plans, including art, music, language development, fine motor, gross motor, being read to, and sensory experiences.
- Teachers with positive, loving attitudes who engage in quality interactions.
Young Explorers
TLC’s Young Explorers program is designed for children aged 10 to 18 months. This program offers:
- 3 to 1 child to teacher ratio.
- Continued use of baby sign language used, to increase communication skills.
- Supports emerging skills, such as pulling up, walking, feeding oneself, and basic words and sounds.
- Developmentally appropriate lesson plans, including art, music, language cards and games, fine motor, gross motor, sensory experiences, and lots of story time!
- Teachers with positive, loving attitudes who engage in quality interactions.
- During warm weather, the class goes on walks around the neighborhood, plays on the playgrounds, and even occasional water days.
Toddlers / Juniors (Time for Two’s)
TLC’s Toddler/Junior program is designed to be developmentally appropriate for children aged 18 months to 3 years. This program offers:
- 5 to 1 child to teacher ratio.
- Focus on social and emotional growth.
- Positive encouragement for conflict resolution, including gentle redirection and modeling of positive behavior (in lieu of hitting, pushing, screaming, or yelling).
- Activities that are teacher-directed but child-inspired.
Preschool (Part of the TLC Academy for Young Children)
TLC’s Preschool program is designed to be developmentally appropriate for 3-year-olds. This program offers:
- 7 to 1 child to teacher ratio.
- Curriculum that meets criteria set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
- Active exploration, manipulation, and concrete experiences which form the foundation for future, more abstract learning.
- Art, music & movement, dramatic play, science, mathematics, Spanish, sensory, computer, physical education, and free play.
- Color, shape, letter, number and name recognition every day. Beginning writing skills in preparation for Pre-K.
- Continued social development, such as self-help skills, cleaning up, mealtime, and general manners.
- Field trips and walks around the neighborhoods, and picnics with the ducks!
Pre-Kindergarten (Part of the TLC Academy for Young Children)
TLC’s Pre-K program is designed to be developmentally appropriate for 4-year-olds. This program offers:
- 8 to 1 child to teacher ratio.
- Curriculum that meets criteria set forth by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
- Lessons and activities in art, language arts, math, science, sensory, blocks, dramatic play, board games, computers, and listening.
- Focus on early literacy skills such as copying words, writing their name, and recognizing early sight words.
- Neighborhood walks and community field trips to places like the pumpkin farm, ice cream shop, post office, and library.
Kindergarten / Kindergarten Enrichment (Part of the TLC Academy for Young Children)
TLC’s Kindergarten program offers half-day or full-day learning. It is designed to be developmentally appropriate for 5- and 6-year-olds. This program offers:
- 12 to 1 child to teacher ratio.
- Program chartered by the State of Ohio as a full-day kindergarten option.
- Foreign languages, computers, science, geography, community, gross motor development, literacy, creative arts, cooking, math, and field trips.
- Designed to enhance children’s love of learning, expand their knowledge base, and foster interest in the world around them.
