“TLC Teachers Instrumental in the Development of Our Girls”
“When we moved to Hudson, TLC Child Development Center helped make our transition smooth and full of developmental growth! Rachel is now potty trained, singing the alphabet, counting, and dancing. Claire is walking, beginning to talk, and showing us how the itsy bitsy spider climbs. Some of our favorite memories include the Halloween Party where the girls learned about ghosts and pumpkins while joining their classmates for a special TLC dinner, the gifts made for each holiday as they learn about our customs, and the daily art that flows into our home and onto the refrigerator. The teachers at TLC have been so instrumental in each girl's development and we see every day how they are connecting the dots and understanding the world around them. We are so fortunate to have found a place as special as TLC and look forward to the years of exploration ahead. As we watch our girls learn from the environment created by TLC, we know they are in the best care and we are very thankful.”

“Truly a Life Saver For Our Family!”
“TLC was truly a life saver for us, especially for Tessa's development. She has made much progress there and is showing us more "tricks" daily that she has picked up. She's started cruising and has found ways to get to almost everything she wants.”

“We enrolled Brooke in TLC’s Junior Preschool program last summer just after she turned two and just after we had moved from New Jersey to Hudson, Ohio. We had originally planned to get Brooke started in a preschool program at age two and a half, just as we had with her older sister, Madison. But with a new baby sister scheduled to be born at the end of last summer, we decided to enroll Brooke early – just after she turned two - so that the adjustment from full-time-at-home-with-Mommy to part-time-at-school-away-from-Mommy would take place before a new baby was thrown into the mix. Plus, I have to admit that having Brooke in school three half days a week was also a way for me to sneak in the occasional oh so heavenly nap.
Brooke had never been away from me for longer than a few hours and even then she was with her Daddy or her Grandma – ‘Nana.’ As I had feared, the first day of dropping off Brooke consisted of a screaming, clinging child who had to be physically pried out of my arms. I am not sure who was more traumatized by the experience, me or Brooke! I walked out of TLC crying and wondering if I was making a mistake. To my joy and gratitude, Miss Loretta (we call her ‘Saint Loretta’) knew just how to help and comfort Brooke. She took my little girl and put her right to work, appointing her as a ‘special helper,’ which is a natural thing for my bossy little girl. She was also a pro at involving Brooke right away in some kind of coloring or painting project. I am still amazed at how quickly Loretta was able to figure out my daughter.
Even now that drop off has become easy and Brooke looks forward to school, Loretta always gives Brooke a little special attention; holding Brooke’s hand or giving her a hug when she needs one. Brooke is doing very well at TLC with ‘Miss Etta.’ She loves telling me about her friends; Rachel, Dylan, Natalie, and is so proud of the fact that she knows her ABC’s, her colors, her shapes, and that she can count all the way to 20. Developmentally, she exceeds the milestones and expectations of a two and a half year old which we mostly attribute to the care she gets at TLC. Naturally my husband and I are very proud. But we are also grateful for the extra attention and love that Loretta and the TLC staff have shown to our daughter, Brooke.”

“SO Many Happy Memories!”
“Travis has been attending TLC since he was 16 months old and in the Young Explorers classroom. At the time he started, I was a busy single mom and third-year law student and was pleased to have found TLC, a place Travis loved immediately. Some of my favorite memories of TLC include: receiving an adorable handmade Mother’s Day gift each year, the Halloween parade, and hearing stories of a leprechaun who sneaks into the classrooms each St. Patrick’s Day to turn the milk green! Travis will be attending summer camp at TLC this summer and afternoon kindergarten three days per week this fall, and we look forward to many more happy memories.”

“Teachers Have Shown Patience, Understanding, and Abundant Kindness!”
“ When we came to Hudson last October, we loved the family oriented, friendly community with beautiful old and new homes combined. We found just the right place to stay for a very long time, if not forever. Then came the difficult decision of finding school and child care for Jack (5) and Ella (3). I work part time as a pediatric occupational therapist and love my career, but with that choice, comes the difficult decision of finding an excellent school situation that also offers excellent child care. TLC came highly recommended by several people I spoke with when beginning the search.
We love the low teacher/child ratio, friendly motivated teachers and staff, and the amount of age appropriate learning that happens daily. We especially love the kids faces when they are so excited to share all the activities they bring home with them and stories about their days. Jack, our 5 year old, is unsure about new situations. Miss Kim, Miss Jaime, and Miss Destanie have shown Jack patience, understanding, and an abundance of kindness to help him become comfortable in his classroom. I am happy to say that he is thriving thanks to their guidance! Our Ella “plays” teacher almost every night and does a great job imitating Miss Roseanne and Miss Ashley’s gentle and hands on approach to teaching. And Wednesday mornings are always full of excitement for Mr. Pfeister’s gym class that day. They especially love it! We have met so many great families and people at TLC and are so grateful for such an easy transition into a new community!”

“My High Expectations Were Met and Exceeded by TLC!”
“It is hard to believe that I have known the Pfeister family for 30 years! It all began in third grade when I met Kent and Alison's oldest daughter, Cara, on my first day in the Hudson School District. I have been a proud part of the family ever since. In fact, I remember when the vision for TLC first evolved. Alison and Kent planned to create a family owned center with lofty educational goals where children would have the freedom to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. That dream finally became a reality. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside the staff of TLC as one of my summer jobs. It was a terrific experience.
It was both an easy and natural decision to send my son to TLC once his time to enter kindergarten arrived. What a great decision! Owen has flourished in the warm, kind and structured environment that Mrs. Sharp provides. In his own words, Owen says, "Mrs. Sharp is a good teacher because she helps everyone learn and she gives us all a chance to be class leaders." My son feels proud of the academic progress he makes daily. He enjoys telling us about the Spanish words he knows and showing us his latest journals. Just as importantly, he loves to spend time learning to interact with his classmates on the computer, outside play area and during games of UNO. Weekly P.E. with Mr. Pfeister is a particular favorite for our active little man.
Like every parent, I had high expectations for my son's kindergarten experience. I expected that Owen would receive a great educational experience in a supportive, loving environment. I expected that he would have fun and gain self-esteem. I realize that is a lot to ask. It has surely been wonderful to have those lofty expectations met at TLC.”

We invite you to read what our happy parents have to say about their experience at TLC Child Development Center:
"To say that we are pleased with the care our children have received at TLC would be a huge understatement. Our children have thrived as a result of being with teachers who are truly devoted to creating a fun environment of learning for each and every child in their classroom. Moreover, the TLC staff is genuine in their interest of the overall well-being of our children, as they went above and beyond to make sure we knew how much they would love to care for our child with special needs. Since starting at TLC, she has made remarkable progress, and I attribute her recent milestones to her wonderful teachers. Their guidance and encouragement have been invaluable. Sending our children to TLC has been one of the best decisions we've ever made."

"I have two children at TLC, age 4 and 9 months old. Both have been at TLC since infancy. I love that my younger son will have the same teachers that my older son did, since TLC’s teacher turnover is very low. They are so loving and truly care about my boys. I never have to worry while I am at work because I know that my boys will be learning in such a warm, loving environment, and they do learn! My husband works at Kent State and we have recommended TLC to many new faculty who’ve also been happy there. I feel so lucky to have found them!

"I feel our choice to use TLC was made even before our son was born! Over the years, my husband and I have known numerous families whose children have attended TLC and they’ve given us nothing but positive feedback. When I was 4 months pregnant, I reserved a spot for our son to attend full-time. He has been at TLC almost 2 years now. In a nutshell, I cannot imagine him anywhere else. The teachers have created such a warm, caring, and educational environment. Since the child-to-teacher ratio is so low, he gets personalized attention and nothing goes without notice. My son loves the walks around the pond, the daily arts & crafts, and swim day during the summer months. Most importantly, our son is safe in a very secure environment with a very caring staff and owners. Thank you TLC for being the BEST at what you do!"

"As an educator, I shopped around for a high quality child care facility for my toddler. I chose TLC because of the small class sizes and low child-teacher ratios. I also like that they went outside and explored the community rather than watching videos or playing on the computer. When I became responsible for Kent State University's early childhood student teaching placements, I began sending students to TLC. They continue to receive great mentoring and life experience in the classroom while contributing fresh ideas and energy. TLC is a terrific asset to Hudson families!"

"TLC is a truly unique childcare facility that we were blessed to find for our family. All three of our boys have attended TLC, and we could not ask for a better nurturing and learning environment for them. Any facility can look good "on paper" but TLC really lives out the philosophy and programming that they advertise. My previous experience working as an assistant director at another large childcare facility makes me appreciate the value of what TLC offers. Here are the top six things that distinguish TLC from other facilities:
1) TEACHERS: The teachers are experienced teachers who take their jobs seriously and enjoy the children. For the past three years, teacher turn-over has been very low and highly qualified teachers have filled any vacancies that opened in the classrooms. For the past few years, the Preschool and Pre-K classes have also had student teachers from local universities in the room. It’s an added bonus to have the extra teacher in the room with fresh ideas and energy!
2) LEADERSHIP: The directors at TLC have always been very professional and supportive. With an excellent teaching staff, the directors are able to work to support the teachers with curriculum instead of "putting out fires" and covering classrooms each day. This is not the case in many childcare facilities.
3) LESSONS: The daily activities for the kids are FUN and educational. The teachers plan really great lessons that involve exploration and multi-sensory activities. The directors support the teachers by providing materials needed to create cool lessons for the kids. They go far beyond construction paper and crayons!! Last week my son made applesauce, went on a nature hike, and played with cinnamon sticks and spices in the multi-sensory table.
4) LOCATION: The TLC building is located on a residential street. My boys feel like they are going to a loving "home" instead of a cold, business building. The center also backs up to a great pond and walking path which is used for weekly walks to explore nature or feed the ducks. The older classes are also able to take walking fieldtrips to the Wooden Park and the Fire Dept or Post Office. The outdoor play area has space for every age and it’s used daily by the classes.
5) SIZE: The small facility has a unique feeling that larger centers cannot offer. The teachers in the building know almost all of the children at the center. Siblings can visit each other and see each other on the playground too.
6) CLASS SIZE: You simply CANNOT beat the ratios that TLC offers. Fewer students means more individualized attention and simply put, less classroom management issues. The kids at TLC are not treated like numbers in the classroom, they are treated as special people in the class.I never thought I would have my children in a childcare facility, but TLC has provided an environment that gives me peace of mind. My boys love going to school each day. My husband and I can go to work knowing that our boys feel safe, special, and loved at TLC!"
- Tracy Zappone, Hudson, Ohio
"We want to say how fortunate we are to have this incredible learning center to bring our children to each day. To know my children are in the care of people who really love what they do and go above the standard is priceless. Our children have benefitted from the dedicated efforts of those that teach them, and who leave gentle impressions on their hearts and minds."
- Chris & Connie Skripac, Hudson, Ohio
"Thank you for filling a much needed niche in the child care choices in our area. The low child/teacher ratio and quality of care at TLC is outstanding. The TLC teachers do a fantastic job caring for and helping to develop our future politicians, princesses, super heroes, teachers, etc.
