Imagine you are on an airplane, traveling to investigate animals from all over the world. That is what our kids did yesterday, we had a visit from Jungle Bob who "flew" us all over the world to check out his critters. From the Amazon to Greece, watching the kids faces as they saw each animal come out of their box was fantastic. Casper the friendly snake was a fan favorite, Jungle Bob just couldn't get the lid on correctly and Casper kept trying to escape. That seemed to be a theme because Freddie the ferret was trying to escape as well. the kids loved it! There were also hissing cockroaches', a chinchilla, a hedgehog, and a turtle! We all had so much fun looking at and learning about all of these animals.

Usually when the preschoolers go for their walks, the firetrucks are "sleeping," last week we had an inside tip that if they went for a walk they would be "awake." They were! Not only did the firefighters show the kids how high up they can go up, they took pictures of them while they were up there. Afterwards the children got to take how their very own firefighter hats!
Yesterday the Young Explorers classroom hung balloons up in the middle of their room on a string. They weren't just any balloons though, they had lights in them! The kids really enjoyed hitting the balloons and watching the lights sway back and forth.
The toddlers worked on their fine motor skills today in a few different ways. Peeling dinosaurs off of cookie sheets, using tongs to pick up pom poms, building blocks on the light table and scooping rice and pom poms in the sensory bin. Learning and working on our skills can be so much fun! If you're ever looking for fun activities to do with the kids at home just taping some of their toys to a cookie sheet or on any surface would be a great way to build their fine motor skills.
