Our young explorers took a new approach to painting today with some cotton balls. It started with squishing them in the paint, and touching the paper, which lead to the realization that they could throw them as well. They also learned that along with the cotton balls sticking to the paper when they have paint on them, it could also stick to your face! At TLC we love finding different mediums and tools to create art with, the messier the better!

About a month ago our preschool two friends got some caterpillars. On Friday last week one started hatching, and the rest of them took advantage of the peace and quiet over the weekend to emerge from their cocoons! The kids have loved learning about the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly and were elated to come in this morning to a habitat full of beautiful monarch butterflies!
Our preschoolers had so much fun discovering what they can create using gravity! They used droppers and watered down paint to drip colors down their papers.
The start of a fun box fort creation the toddler 2 class is doing this week. Stay tuned to see what else they come up with! Ms. Jolie always thinks of fun ways to engage her Young Explorer class and create some really cool art along the way! The other day they got to paint with trucks!
Happy Thursday everyone! We hope our cheerful Young Explorers put as big a smile on your face, that they do on ours!
Every year at TLC, we put on a center wide "snowed in" day. During the winter the kids spend a lot of time inside, so we like to dedicate a day to getting messy and having fun inside! Take a look at what each class did for their extra messy activity. Infants + Young ExplorersToddlersPreschoolersMs. Ashley noticed her kids loved playing with the ice that was forming outside, so she came up with this fun activity based off that interest! They mixed a little bit of water in their paint and froze it in plastic cups with popsicle sticks sticking out to use as handles. The children had a great time discovering how to create art with this new medium.
Ms. Jenna's toddlers are getting a head start on valentines day with these adorable heart crafts. Putting their pictures and names by their art work for everyone to see is not only adorable, but helps communicate to the children that we value their work and they can take pride in a job well done!
